For the 2024 summer exodus and
counter-exodus, Autostrade Alto Adriatico is reinforcing its
staff to monitor traffic, deploying 220 operators on the ground
for each designated high-traffic day in collaboration with the
traffic police, and also enhancing communication channels.
There are five days expected to have the most critical
traffic: Saturday, July 27; Saturday, August 3; Saturday, August
10; Saturday, August 17; and Saturday, August 24. Additionally,
there are 14 red flag days indicating particularly heavy
traffic: Thursday, July 25; Friday, July 26; Sunday, July 28;
Thursday, August 1; Friday, August 2; Sunday, August 4;
Thursday, August 8; Friday, August 9; Sunday, August 11;
Wednesday, August 14; Friday, August 16; Sunday, August 18;
Friday, August 23; and Friday, August 30. Starting today, new
channels on WhatsApp and Telegram will be operational to provide
real-time information to users. This service will be active 24
hours a day, 365 days a year, and will also allow users to know
in advance about any motorway closures due to construction.
From January 1 to July 21, traffic has increased by 3.89%
compared to the same period in 2023, which was a record year
with a 5.8% increase over 2022, totaling over 28.4 million
transits. This includes 20.1 million light vehicles (+3.77%) and
8.2 million heavy vehicles (+4.17%). Even during the summer
season (June 15 - July 21), there was a 1.78% increase in
transits (+3.11% in light traffic), with some "beach" toll
booths showing significant increases (Latisana +6.74%).
Despite the overall increase in traffic, there has been a
decrease in accidents (282 compared to 322 in 2023), with 74
injuries (4 more than in 2023) and 5 fatalities (2 more than in
the same period in 2023). The two-lane San Donà-Nodo di
Portogruaro stretch has shown improvement with 57 accidents
compared to 70 in 2023 and 79 in 2022, including 13 resulting in
injuries (same as 2023; there were 21 in 2022) and 0 fatalities
(same as 2023; there were 3 in 2022).
