Serbia's announced purchase of 12
French Rafale fighter planes is part of its policy to strengthen
its military equipment, having to look after its defense and
security as a neutral country. That is what President Aleksandar
Vucic told public TV station RTS this morning.
He then referred in critical terms to the many journalistic
comments that appeared in neighboring countries about fears that
Serbia could negatively affect stability in the Balkan region
with such powerful and sophisticated aircraft.
Vucic added, "No such article, however, had appeared when
Croatia announced the purchase of 12 used Rafale planes, even
though Croatia has almost half the population of Serbia."
