Slovenia: first outbreak of avian flu detected

A farm isolated in the North

(ANSA-AFP) - BELGRADE, DEC 28 - A small farm in northeastern Slovenia was placed in quarantine on Tuesday after a case of bird flu was detected, Slovenian authorities said. The H5N1 virus continues to circulate in Europe through migrator birds.

The Slovenian Food Safety and Veterinary Services Agency (UVHVVR) on Monday confirmed the first case of H5N1 this year.
