(ANSA) - TRIESTE, DECEMBER - Cooperation with the Spanish region of Galicia, Slovenia, Austria, stronger cooperation with neighboring Veneto and stronger relations with Tunisia for the re-launch of a project started with Libya which aims to make "Trieste the gateway to Europe for the Libyan fish": in 2019, the Regional Council of FVG launched numerous international initiatives. "This year was intense also in this respect," explained the President of the Regional Council, Piero Mauro Zanin, during a Forum at ANSA newsroom in Trieste.

"With Galicia - he recalled - we want to start a collaboration with all scientific bodies based in Trieste and work on the effects of the climate change." There is also a project shared by Friuli, Austria, and Veneto to start coordinated legislative initiatives in which "also the Croatian region of Istria and Slovenia" seems to be interested. Last year a "collaboration to define a more coherent and coordinated legislative process between the two assemblies on some topics such as civil protection or health" was launched with Slovenia through two meetings. Next year, Zanin announced, after the green-light from the Farnesina, "in Gorizia, we will sign the Memorandum that we have drawn together". Finally, a dialogue started with institutional organizations and representatives of Italian minorities in Istria, Fiume, and Dalmatia. (ANSA).
