EU calls on Macedonia to keep reforms agenda intense

Mogherini met vice PM Osmani. New meeting to be held on 19/3

(ANSA) - BRUXELLES, FEB 20 - EU High Representative Federica Mogherini met today with Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia in charge of European Affairs, Bujar Osmani, in Brussels. After the historic agreement reached with Greece on the new name of Macedonia, Skopje "needs to continue with a high level of intensity, as sustained tangible reform results are indispensable for moving forward in the EU integration process", she said.

During the discussion, Osmani briefed the High Representative on the reform agenda, including in the fields of independence of the judiciary, intelligence services and public administration, confirming the work will continue in an intensive way in the coming weeks and months.

Skopje's progress on the internal reforms will also be on the agenda during the next Stabilisation and Association Council on March, 19th, in Brussels. It will be the first meeting for the two diplomatic delegations following the entry into force of the Prespa agreeement. (ANSA).
