Macedonia: Fitch Solutions, country catching up with peers
Next two years growth will match average in the Balkans
27 October, 17:00Macedonia will record a GDP growth of 2.6% in 2018 that will accelerate to 3.4% by 2020, in particular due to "robust consumption and a recovery in investment supported by improvements in the political climate," Fitch Solutions forecasted.
Macedonia "will gradually catch up with regional peers in the Western Balkans - including Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia - where we estimate aggregate economic activity will strengthen to 3.7% in 2018, up from 2.8% on the previous year," the commentary reads.
