Georgia: EU launches first school of Eastern Partnership
Commissioner Hahn on official mission today and tomorrow

(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, 03 SEP - The European Commissioner for
Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy, Johannes Hahn, has arrived
today in Tbilisi for a two-day official visit. Hahn will meet
with the major Georgian leaders to discuss progress in the
implementation of the EU-Georgia association agreement. The
first European School for the Eastern Partnership (consisting of
Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus) will be
officially launched tomorrow in Tbilisi.
The new European institute is one of the results put down in black and white at the Eastern Partnership summit in November 2017 in Brussels. The aim is to offer quality education to high school students from partner countries and promote the fundamental values of the Union. Hahn will meet the first 30 students already selected for the academic year 2018-2019.
The EU Commissioner's visit comes just a few days after a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the European Union and Georgia for up to €45 million in Macro-Financial Assistance, to support economic reforms and cover part of the country's financing needs. (ANSA).
