(ANSA) - ROME, JULY 26 - Audi is about to start producing electric motors at the Gyor plant in Hungary. The process was symbolically initiated by Peter Kössler, member of the board of management of Audi AG Production and logistics, and Achim Heinfling, managing director of Audi Hungary. The electric motors will be produced in a dedicated area of 8,500sqm, according to a groundbreaking modular assembly system. The capacity of the Hungarian plant stands at 400 electric motors and will be implemented day by day. The number of workers will rise from 100 to 130 by the end of the year and the activity will be distributed over three shifts.

Moreover, Audi Hungary has installed three engine test stands for electric motors. A specific training is dedicated to employees so that they can become specialists in the field of zero emission units. In 2017, Audi Hungary built 1,965,165 engines, becoming one of the world's leading manufacturers of powertrains. (ANSA).
