(ANSA) - ROME, JULY 26 - Audi is about to start producing
electric motors at the Gyor plant in Hungary. The process was
symbolically initiated by Peter Kössler, member of the board of
management of Audi AG Production and logistics, and Achim
Heinfling, managing director of Audi Hungary. The electric
motors will be produced in a dedicated area of 8,500sqm,
according to a groundbreaking modular assembly system. The
capacity of the Hungarian plant stands at 400 electric motors
and will be implemented day by day. The number of workers will
rise from 100 to 130 by the end of the year and the activity
will be distributed over three shifts.
Moreover, Audi Hungary has installed three engine test stands
for electric motors. A specific training is dedicated to
employees so that they can become specialists in the field of
zero emission units.
In 2017, Audi Hungary built 1,965,165 engines, becoming one
of the world's leading manufacturers of powertrains. (ANSA).
