(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 7 JUL - The Serbian Finance minister, Sinisa Mali, has confirmed that a new modern 'National Stadium' will be built in Ostruznica, a suburb of the Serbian capital, local media reported.

Mali spoke of a important investment for Belgrade, as "there are no reasons why Belgrade should not host some European or World tournaments," Mali said as quoted on Serbian media. With the construction of the National Stadium "we will also promote the country and attract tourists," Mali added.

According to information circulated on media in Serbia, the stadium will have a capacity of 60,000 and works may start already this year. The complex will be designed by Fenwick Iribarren Architects and the State could cover the biggest part of costs, investing around 150 million euro. (ANSA).
