Serbia: since October 4,292 measles cases, 13 deaths

Authorities reissued an appeal to get vaccinated

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, APRIL 5 - In Serbia the number of deaths due to measles has risen to 13, and the cases recorded since last October have been 4,292 so far. The latest victim was a girl from Kragujevac (central Serbia), who died in a Belgrade hospital last night. The most common complications related to measles are severe forms of pneumonia and encephalitis. The vast majority of people who got sick, over 95%, were unvaccinated, therefore local authorities reissued an appeal to get vaccinated.(ANSA).
