(ANSA) - LJUBLJANA, 07 MAR - The Slovenian gross domestic product expanded in real terms by 5 per cent in 2017, the strongest growth recorded in the country since 2007, the national Statistical office said. New estimates indicate also a growth of 6.2 per cent of the GDP in the last quarter of 2017 in comparison with the same quarter of 2016. External demand was the main driver of growth, with exports increased by 10.6% year on year. Domestic demand grew also by 4%. The last estimates of the Slovenian statistical office are in line with the latest Economic Forecast of the European Commission, that anticipated that the real GDP would increase by 4.9% in 2017.
