For genocide and war crimes against humanity

22 November, 15:11
(ANSA) - BRUSSELS - The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague on Wednesday sentenced former Bosnian Serb army leader Ratko Mladic to life on charges of genocide and war crimes against humanity perpetrated during the Bosnian war in 1992-1995.

Mladic, 74, was found guilty of 10 out of 11 charges in the trial of first instance.

He was found guilty, among other things, of the genocide in Srebrenica while the intention to commit genocide in the municipalities of north-western Bosnia was not recognized by the court.

Before being taken out of the courtroom, in an outburst, Mladic screamed against the tribunal's judges. (ANSA).
