Montenegro: Tito's old yacht for sale
Public auction, starting price 80 thousand euros
18 November, 11:55Local media reported that the old yacht owned by Yugoslav leader was considered to be a superfluous asset, unnecessary to the state organs of Montenegro. Built in 1977 in the shipyards 'Kraljevica', in Croatia, the yacht 'Jadranka' - 34 m long, can accommodate 40 people and 14 sailors - had has been berthed for years in the port of Bar, Montenegro, a country that just like all other ex federal republics, proclaimed its independence (in 2006) after the disruption of the Yugoslav Federation.
Not everyone has approved the decision to sell Tito's yacht.
On Twitter some citizens have sumbitted to the Montenegrin authorities the plan to set up a Museum of Historic Boats in Kotor or Tivat, in order to further enhance tourism. (ANSA).
