(ANSA) - TRIESTE - The number of arrivals of Austrian tourists
in Friuli Venezia Giulia recorded a 5.6% growth in 2015 over the
previous year, totalling almost 398,000 visitors who chose a
seaside holiday on the Adriatic coast, on the beaches, or a stay
in Trieste and other cities, and on the hills in search of the
excellence of agricultural food production.
In the general context of German-speaking tourism, Austria
remains a strategic objective for the regional Administration
and its operational arm PromoTurismo FVG, who presented today to
journalists and tour operators at the MuseumsQuartier in Vienna
the special edition of the regional culture magazine ''Tiere
furlane'': over 150 pages written entirely in German, written by
Austrian journalists.
Vice President of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and Tourism
Councillor Sergio Bolzonello announced the possibility, in the
autumn, of holding an economic forum in Vienna in order to
explain to Austria's financial system, industry and high-quality
manufacturers all the opportunities the port of Trieste is able
to offer to its historical hinterland, thanks to the phase of
expansion the commercial harbour is experiecing and new
investments made to develop the ''Porto Vecchio''. (ANSA).
