(ANSA) - TRIESTE - The number of illegal migrants entering Bulgaria has dropped by 30% compared to 2015, Bulgarian interior minister, Rumyana Bachvarova, said in an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio (Bnr).

According to Bachvarova, the formation of the new migrant route is being avoided thanks to the efforts of the authorities. Once detained, the migrants are reported to the refugee centres.

Individuals without travel documents undergo 'full procedure', including the confirmation of their identity, evaluation of the request for refugee status and individual interviews with the authorities. (ANSA).
