4% of all Ikea articles made in Romania
Retail manager for East Europe:'we will double the volume'

(ANSA) - BUCAREST - Around 4% of all furniture and
decorations available in Ikea stores worldwide is made in
Romania, Romania Insider reported quoting the company's retail
manager for East Europe, Stefan Vanoverbeke.
Ikea intends to double the volume of products acquired from Romania over the next five years and in order to obtain this goal, it will increase the number of its suppliers on the national level, Vanoverbeke added. At the moment, the major Ikea suppliers in Romania are furniture producers Aramis Invest, Taparo, Sortilemn and porcelain producer Apulum. Currently, Romania's Ikea suppliers count a 14,000 people workforce while the value of the products supplied each year is around 400 million euros.
