Sarajevo, over 50,000 pilgrims registered for Pope's visit

Cardinal Puljic, security situation under control

13 May, 15:30
(ANSA) - SARAJEVO - More than fifty thousand Catholics from all over Bosnia-Herzegovina and other countries in the region have so far registered to attend the Mass that Pope Francis will celebrate in Sarajevo on June 6th, the Archbishop of Sarajevo, Cardinal Vinko Puljic, announced today.

The recent attack against a police station in Zvornik, Easter Bosnia, and the events of Kumanovo, in Macedonia, increased the attention towards the security measures for the visit, but according to Puljic the situation "is under control" and there is no reason "for fear". (ANSA).
