Press freedom and sources in South East Europe

Seeemo-Cei Awards for investigative journalism

18 October, 15:26
(ANSA) - SKOPJE - An intense exchange of views between a number of journalists and a Minister, along with the good practices for the protection of sources, the role of "big data" and, again, the freedom of the press: the 8th edition of the South East Europe Media Forum focuses on problems and opportunities of professional journalism in South East Europe.

The conference is organized by Seemo, Centre European Initiative (Cei) and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, under the sponsorship of the EC, the International Media Center, Unesco and Secepro. During the meeting, Serbian reporter Brankica Stankovic (TV B92) was awarded the Seemo/Cei prize for merits in the field of investigative journalism. Sadeta Fisic, Jovana Kljajic and Maida Salkanovic (Cin Sarajevo) were awarded in the section dedicated to young reporters, and Ukrainian journalist Anna Babinets received a special mention. The Serbian journalist Stankovic, editor of the investigative tv programme Insajder, has been living under armed escort since 2009 after receiving several death threats. (ANSA).
