Slovenia, agreement on new government coalition

Cabinet will be led by prime minister-designate Miro Cerar

(ANSA) - LJUBLJANA - In Slovenia, after the elections of July 13, an agreement was reached to form a new coalition government.

This agreement was announced by the party led by Prime minister-designate Miro Cerar, Smc, the Pensioners' Party (DeSUS), led by outgoing Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec, and the Social Democratic Party (Sd) led by Dejan Zidan.

The new government pact will be signed on Monday and the new coalition that will rely in parliament on a majority of 52 deputies out of 90. The vote of confidence is expected by September 15. The biggest party in the coalition, Smc, will run eight ministries (including economy, interior, infrastructure), the DeSUS four (including foreign and environment), the Social Democrats will have three ministries (including defense and agriculture).(ANSA).
