(ANSA) - BELGRADE - EU accession of all Western Balkan countries
is a realistic prospect, but the timing of integration depends
on single countries and on the speed at which the reforms will
be implemented. This is what Jose Manuel Barroso, outgoing
president of the European Commission, said in Berlin, speaking
to reporters at the end of a conference on the European
integration of the Western Balkans. Barroso, who held a press
conference together with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and
Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama, pointed out the progress made
by the countries of the region towards EU integration, in
particular by Serbia, Albania and Kosovo, underlining that
''Croatia's example demonstrates that EU accession is
possibile''. (ANSA).
