OECD: Germany's GDP slowing in the second half of 2014

Italy’s remains negative

(ANSA) - PARIS - Germany's GDP growth is slowing down in the second quarter of 2014, with a decrease by 0.2% compared with the previous three months. This news was reported by the OECD, which underlines that these data were rather positive in the first quarter (up 0.7% compared to the last quarter of 2013). Even Italy's GDP decreased (-0.2% compared to the first quarter); it had already declined by 0.1% on a sequential basis during the previous three months, while French GDP remains stable for the second consecutive quarter. In the eurozone as a whole, GDP between April and June 2014 grew by 0.1%. Compared with the same period of 2013, Italian GDP fell by 0.3% (the only negative figure among the G7 countries), French GDP increased by 0.1% and euro-zone GDP by 0.7%.
