(ANSA) - UDINE - The Multinational Land Force (MLF),
multinational unit based in Udine, concluded the 'Final
coordination conference' in which were defined the basis on
which will be conducted the exercising 'Clever Ferret 2014'. The
exercise will be held in Slovenia from June 23 to July 5, and it
will involve 1,500 soldiers from Italy, Slovenia and Hungary.The
Command of the MLF will line up in Maribor, where it will
coordinate the activities of the units that the three countries
that make up the coalition will put under its command and that
will be located in training areas scattered throughout the
territory of Slovenia, from Postojna to Murska Sobota.Annually
the staff of the Command MLF, largely taken from the organic
Alpine Brigade Command 'Julia', reinforced by specialists in the
Alpine troops Command of the Army and other departments as well
as Slovenian and Hungarian staff, is trained in an exercise to
test the ability of planning, refine the the management
procedures of operations, increase the amalgam between
international forces and assess their state of readiness.Born on
April 18, 1998, the MLF is now an appropriate instrument to
perform missions under the aegis of NATO, UN, EU and OSCE
employing a light force to Brigade level in any part of the
world. Given its characteristics, it has been repeatedly
redeployed in Kosovo and Afghanistan. (ANSA).
