15 April, 15:45

(ANSA) - ROME - ''I'm planning to visit the whole region of the Western Balkans, hopefully at the beginning of the Italian Presidency of the European Union. I would like to give a signal, that enlargement is a priority for Italy and for the 'EU''. This was announced today by Italian Foreign Affairs Minister Federica Mogherini at a press conference held at the Farnesina (Rome) with her Montenegrin counterpart Igor Luksic, who in turn has invited the foreign minister to visit Podgorica.

''This is the recognition of the reality that you are in Europe, and means just making it official'', Mogherini added.

''In the last two months I met all my counterparts in the Balkans and this is the only region, apart from the EU, with which I had the opportunity to meet during all these bilateral events'', the minister said. (ANSA).
