Industry grows in Slovakia, Romania, Hungary

Good performance year-on-year in Bulgaria, Czech Republic,Poland

(ANSA) - TRIESTE - Industrial production grew by 0.2% in February 2014, compared to January, and by 0.4% in the Eurozone, with positive peaks in Lithuania (+2.5%) and negative peaks in three countries of the '' New Europe'', Croatia (-2.8%), Estonia (-2.2%) and Romania (-1.3%), according to a report issued today by Eurostat.

According to the statistical office of the EU, the industrial production increased by 2.1% year-on -year. The largest annual growth rates were recorded in Slovakia (+9%), Romania (+ 8.9%) and Hungary. Between February 2014 and February 2013, good performances were also recorded in Bulgaria (+6.5%), Czech Republic (+6.7%), Poland (+5.3%) and Germany (+4%). Rather moderate growth in Estonia (+0.2%) and in Croatia (+1.6).

Negative figures, finally, in Slovenia (-1.1%), Latvia (-1.7%) and Lithuania (-2.1% year-on-year).(ANSA).
