(ANSA) - BELGRADE - The air link between Belgrade and Beijing was restored on Friday after a 17-year break. An A330-300 airbus operated by Chinese company Hainan landed at Nikola Tesla airport in the Serbian capital, with a group of Chinese entrepreneurs aboard.

The aircraft was welcomed by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, who underlined Belgrade's interest in further intensifying cooperation and trade between Serbia and China.

The new air connection, at the initial stage, will take place twice a week with a stopover in Prague, and later a daily direct connection will be operated. The price of a roundtrip ticket is 457 euros. The latest Belgrade-Beijing connection was carried out in 2000 by the Serbian company Jat Airways.(ANSA).
