Tourism: number of Chinese people to grow in Croatia

From 160,000 in 2017 to 250,000 this year

(ANSA) - BELGRADE - The number of Chinese tourists visiting Croatia may reach 250,000 this year, Mario Rendulic, president of Chinese Southeast European Business Association (CSEBA) told the news agency Xinhua today.

Cseba is one of the associations organizing the 'Silk Road Tourism Conference' ongoing in Dubrovnik. At the event, Chinese tourist operators showed "great interest in investing in resources on the Adriatic coast and building hotels in the continental part of Croatia," Xinhua noted.

According to data of the Croatian government, quoted by the Chinese news agency, 160,000 tourists from China visited Croatia in 2017, +57% compared to 2016. According to the Croatian ministry of Tourism, tourist arrivals from China amounted to approximately 88,000 in 2015. (ANSA).
