(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 22 NOV - From 5 to 9 July 2020 Trieste will host the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF), which is the largest interdisciplinary science meeting in Europe. One of the main goal of the 2020 edition is the development of a permanent and more efficient collaboration among research institutes, companies, policy makers and society located in Central Eastern European Countries.

On Friday 23 November 2018 ESOF2020 Trieste will be presented at Jožef Stefan Institute in Ljubljana, Slovenia, starting from 10.00 a.m. During the meeting the great opportunities that this event will offer to this geographical area in terms of progress and growth will be illustrated.

Focused on scientific research and innovation, ESOF offers a unique platform for interaction and debate for scientists, researchers, business people, policy makers, science communicators and general public. Stefano Fantoni, ESOF2020 Trieste Champion said: "Our vision of Trieste as hub for science, business and society interactions in an area spanning the North East of Italy and the Central Eastern European countries is a key reason for the city being a truly great ESOF host". The speakers scheduled on 23 November will be Jožef Stefan Institute's Director Jadran Lenarčič, the Italian Ambassador in Ljubljana Paolo Trichilo, ESOF2020 Trieste Champion Stefano Fantoni, the dean of the University of Trieste Maurizio Fermeglia and Jana Kolar, Executive Director of CERIC-ERIC.
