(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 24 NOV - The "hydrogen valley aims to create complete value chains of the vector hydrogen, from production to use in different sectors" of production and transportation. The valley that could involve FVG, Slovenia, and Croatia has huge potential both in terms of energy transition and employment. Rodolfo Taccani, professor at the University of Trieste, tells ANSA on the occasion of the workshop focusing on 'North Adriatic cross-border Hydrogen Valley: towards the clean energy transition,' held today in Nova Gorica, Slovenia, the first step towards the potential creation of a 'North Adriatic cross-border hydrogen valley,' across Italy, Slovenia and Croatia.

We're also talking, Taccani emphasizes, "about one of the first cross-border valleys and for us, it could be a great result. The main objective of the plan is to enhance the use of hydrogen in different sectors, from storage to transport and industry".

The project arouses strong interest, with the participation of the public-private partnership Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking, which "has already funded other valleys of this type in Europe," explains Taccani explains. In addition, many companies and organizations are involved in the seminar, including Snam, Danieli, Fincantieri up to the Port Authority, and Wartsila, with research institutions and the same FVG Region at the forefront. Therefore, the potential for job creation is deemed significant, particularly concerning "highly specialized professionals, without forgetting the impact on the territory in terms of environmental and energy sustainability." "The prospects are encouraging," according to Taccani, who is the charge of today's initiative for the Italian side. (ANSA).
