Balkans: Dubrovnik summite, tensions between Croatia/Serbia
Serbian premier Vucic deserts regional summit
24 August, 16:05The summit will focus on strengthening political and economic relations among the twelve countries which take part in the Adriatic-Baltic-Black Sea initiative, under the title ''Connecting the north and south for a stronger Europe''.
Croatian president, Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic, and Poland's president, Andrzej Duda, will open talks. The meeting will be attended by Heads of State of Hungary, Lithuania, Slovenia and Bulgaria, along with several ministers and diplomats.
The eve of the summit was marked by increasingly tense relations between Zagreb and Belgrade and conflicting rumours regarding the presence in Dubrovnik of the Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic.
Two days ago it seemed that Vucic had decided at the last minute to go to Dubrovnik, but he later changed his mind, after some harsh statements against him made by the Croatian Foreign Minister, Miro Kovac. (ANSA).
