(ANSA) - BELGRADE - The European Union does not call on
Serbia to recognize Kosovo, according to Stefan Fuele (Czech
Republic), outgoing enlargement commissioner. "The position of
the EU is the same we presented last year when the basis for
negotiations with Belgrade was adopted. At the same time, we
said very clearly that what we expect is going on with the
normalisation of relations between Serbia and Kosovo", Fuele
said after meeting last night with Serbia's prime minister
Aleksandar Vucic. "We have not applied for recognition (of
Kosovo) at that time, and do not ask it today". Along with the
other EU commissioner responsible for economic affairs, Jyrki
Katainen, Fuele attended in Belgrade a conference on regional
cooperation in the Western Balkans. (ANSA).
