(ANSA) - MOSCOW - ''Continuation of gas transit through Ukraine
after 2020 is a priority for the European Union'', said Marosh
Sefcovic, vice president of the EU, responsible for the Energy
Union, today in Kiev, where he's attending the 14th edition of
the 'Yes' conference. According to Sefcovic, it's important to
work on the energy efficiency of Ukrainian economy, in order to
find new gas resources and boost bilateral trade. Ukraine, he
said, has the potential to become an important energy hub and
the EU is ready to support the continuation of its role in the
transit of Russian natural gas supplies to Europe, Interfax
reported. (ANSA).
