(ANSA) - BELGRADE - The Electric Power Industry of Serbia
(Eps) will invest around EUR 1 billion by 2026 to bring the
operations of Eps acilities fully in line with Eu environmental
standards, Serbian Energy Minister Aleksandar Antic said. The
most important projects will aim to cut emissions of air
pollutants from thermal power plants and introduce measures to
reduce the negative impact of Eps facilities on water, soil and
biodiversity, the minister said. Antic voiced the expectation
that Serbia would soon open Chapter 15 on energy in the Eu
negotiation talks, pointing to visible results concerning the
restructuring of Srbijagas and the requirement to maintain
mandatory gas reserves, for which Serbia had received an
excellent feedback. (ANSA).
