(ANSA) - ROME - Macedonian Energy Resources (Mer) and the
natural gas transmission network operator Desfa (Greece), signed
a memorandum of understanding for the construction of an
interconnection corridor to transport gas along about 160 km.
The new infrastructure will link Stip, Macedonia, to Nea
Mesimvria, Greece. This corridor, the Mia news agency (Skopje)
reported, citing the words of Mer CEO, Krste Miladinov, will not
only allow the transport of liquefied natural gas from
Revithoussa terminal in Greece, but will also allow to connect
the Macedonian gas transmission network to the Tap (Trans
Adriatic gas pipeline, bringing Azeri gas to Italy). (ANSA).
