Roma, Ukrainian Community commemorates Maidan martyrs
Tribute to 'Nebesna Sotnia' activists killed by police

(ANSA) - ROME - The Ukrainian community in Italy commemorates
the Nebesna Sotnia martyrs killed during the protests in Maidan,
Kiev, in February 2014.
This event, organized by the Ukrainian Community of Rome,
will be held in Piazza della Repubblica Sunday at 2pm.
During the protests in Euro-maidan, ''against President Yanukovych, against Russian rule and in favour of a return to Europe'', the promoters underlined, ''about a hundred activists belonging to Nebesna Sotnia died''. Remembering ''the first people fallen for freedom, the Ukrainian Community of Rome, pays tribute to the innocent victims and reconfirms the principles and ideals of the 'Revolution of Dignity' for an independent Ukraine, a democratic and civilised country among the peoples of Europe ''.
