(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 04 LUG - The Croatian shipbuilding company Brodosplit has signed two new contracts with the Italian group Fincantieri for the construction of 'fitted sections' (grand blocks) for mega-cruisers that are built in Italian shipyards, Brodosplit announced on July 3. The contracts were signed under an agreement on long-term business and technical cooperation, which dates back to 2014, Brodosplit specified in a statement.

Brodosplit said that the first contract will concern the construction of sections over 1,200 tons of steel equipped with pipe fitting, locksmith components and electrical routing with delivery in the first half of 2019. The second contract concerns the building of a central section of a ship, 100-meters long, with delivery in the second half of 2019. For this work over 3,000 tons of steel will be used. "On the basis of the above-mentioned as well as other contracts which are in preparation, Brodosplit will generate more than 5 million Euros monthly income, which will bring profit of around 500 million Kunas a year in the period from 2019 - 2025," Brodosplit said in the statement.
