Strategic partnership. Focus on transport and infrastructure

(ANSA) - BELGRADE - Serbia is willing to strengthen cooperation in the economy and energy sectors with Azerbaijan, a former Soviet-dominated Caucasus Muslim republic, rich in oil.

The decision emerged at the talks that Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic had on Monday and Tuesday in Baku with his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev.

Vucic signed with Aliyev an action plan for a strategic partnership between the two countries and the Serbian president underlined the mutual support between Serbia and Azerbaijan, especially in terms of protection of the territorial integrity of both countries. Among the various bilateral agreements signed in Baku, those relating to air transport and infrastructure are particularly important. Vucic attended the inauguration of a Serbian Language and Culture Center at the University of Baku, which gave him an honorary degree. (ANSA).
