Croatia: business climate not positive in 2017

31% thinks that it deteriorated between 2016 and 2017

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 19 APR - Almost eight of out of ten entrepreneurs in Croatia (76%) think that the business climate in the country is not positive and 31% consider that it has deteriorated between 2016 and 2017, a survey of the Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK) shows, local media reported.

The survey, based on the opinions of 750 entrepreneurs, revealed that 23% considered the business climate not good or bad, while one percent considers it encouraging. According to the Hgk research, 53% of the respondents think that the business climate did not change between 2016 and 2017, 31% think that it deteriorated, 16% that it improved.

Among the sectors with largest perceived improvement, the communication with the public administration, while legal security was indicated as one of the main current obstacles.

The head of the HGK, Luka Burilovic, quoted by local media, noted that the reforms should be intensified and said that the current growth rate at 3% is good, but an optimum would be a 4-5%. (ANSA).
