(ANSA) - GORIZIA - From next April the ''EGCT Go'', European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation among the municipalities of Gorizia (Italy), Nova Gorica and Sempeter Vrtojba (Slovenia), will be able to start start spending 10mn euros coming from the EU to enhance tourist projects along the river Soca and create some health services, including the ''Casa del Parto'' (''Delivery House'').

The final go-ahead was given by the Monitoring Committee of the Cooperation Programme Interreg V-A Italy-Slovenia, responsible for supervising and monitoring the implementation of projects and selecting operations, which met a few days ago in Trieste.

The Committee unanimously approved these two projects, expressing full support for Egct Go. At the end of March, the financing plan will be signed, thus opening, in April, the operational stage.

The EC commented on these actions, which are the result of a cross-border collaboration between institutions and respond to local needs, calling them ''flagship initiative'' for the entire European cross-border cooperation programme. (ANSA).
