(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, FEB. 17 - The building sector in November
2016 dropped by 0.2% in the eurozone, but increased by 0.6% in
the EU-28, according to Eurostat. In November 2016, it had
risen, respectively, to 0.9% and 0.7%.
On an annual basis, however, it rose by 3.2% and 1.6%. As for
Italy, the latest date for which figures are available is
October (down 0.9%).
The decline in the building sector in December was mainly due
to a decrease in the construction of buildings (down 0.5%),
while civil engineering increased by 0.8%.
The largest decreases were recorded in Romania (down 4.3%),
Slovakia (down 3.1%) and Bulgaria (down 2.1%), while the highest
increases were recorded in Sweden (up 4.7%), Poland (up 2.5%),
Czech Republic and the United Kingdom (up 2.2%). (ANSA).
