Romania, private sector salaries +10%
Mostly in sectors with minimum wage
22 July, 12:39(ANSA) - TRIESTE - The salaries of workers in private sector in Romania rose by 10% in the first semester of 2016, compared to the same period of the last year, Agerpres agency reported quoting a report published by Smartree. In the first six months of the year, the benefits rose by 16% - both regular ones in form of lunch vouchers and medical insurance, and occasional bonuses. Meanwhile, the number of days off taken by the employees rose by 19%.
The highest growth was registered in the industries with minimum wage, like retail and logistics. Romania's gross minimum wage rose by 19% on May 1st, amounting to 278 euros (1,250 leu).
