(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 19 NOV - The Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) approved a 200 million euros loan to Serbia to support investments in health infrastructure in the country, the CEB said in a statement on November 19.

The Bank said that the loan will be used in particular for the refurbishment of some 20 general hospitals including some energy efficiency improvements and access for person with disabilities, and for the acquisition of modern equipment.

The loan will help with Serbian government to implement "measures in order to improve health infrastructure, equipment and services," the CEB said. The Council of Europe Development Bank was established in 1956. The Bank is a multilateral development bank with a social mandate, contributing to socially oriented investments in different fields, including sustainable and inclusive growth, integration of refugees, displaced persons and migrants and climate action.
