(ANSA) - BELGRADE - The first intergovernmental conference,
planned in order to launch negotiations for accession of Serbia
to the EU, will be held no later than January, said the
permanent President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy
during a telephone conversation with Ivica Dacic, Serbian Prime
Minister. During the same conversation, Van Rompuy announced the
preparations of the EU summit, which will decide tomorrow on the
opening of accession negotiations with Serbia, without further
condition. On the occasion of the European Council meeting in
December, Herman Van Rompuy added, we ''we will define the
process of negotiations with Brussels''. In the conversation
with Dacic - reported by Serbian government - it was announced
at the same time that Harman Van Rompuy will visit Belgrade on
July 1 next year. (ANSA).
