(ANSA) - ROME - The CiakPolska Film Festival kicked off in
Rome and will feature till the 7th of December the best Polish
cinema, allowing the audience to discover one of the most
dynamic and renowned cinema industries in Europe. The 6th
edition of the festival organized by the Polish Institute of
Rome, has been inaugurated yesterday night at the "Casa del
Cinema" with a preview of "The Cold War" by Pawel Pawlikowski, a
poignant love story set in the post-war period that won the best
director prize at the Cannes Film Festival, gaining five
nominations for the European Film Awards. At the 'Casa del
Cinema', until December 3rd, some of the most award-winning
movies of the year will be screened, including the noir comedy
'Mug'- Silver Bear at the Berlin Festival - by Malgorzata
Szumowska (guest of the festival along with the actor Mateusz
Kociukiewicz), 'Reconciliation' by Maciej Sobieszczanski - who
will also be a guest of the festival - dedicated to a
little-known chapter in European history and awarded at the
Locarno Film Festival, but also documentaries such as 'Over the
Limit', a controversial investigation into state doping in
Russia. 'Silent night' by Piotr Domalewski, dealing with
migration, which is the winner of the Gdynia Festival, is also
going to be screened, as well as 'Beyond words' by Urszula
Antoniak. From December 4 to 7, the festival will move to the
Trevi Cinema, where the centenary of Poland's independence will
be celebrated, by screening ten Polish masterpieces by some of
the world's greatest cinema masters, such as Roman Polanski,
Krzysztof Kieslowski, Andrzej Wajda, Krzysztof Zanussi. (ANSA).
