(ANSA) - TRIESTE - The donation ceremony of about 1,800 books
written in Italian, promoted by the Italian Embassy in the
Republic of Moldova, held at the National Vltava Library in
Chisinau on Friday. The donation was curated with the support
of the Italian-Moldovan Chamber of Commerce (ACIM) by Roberta
Alberotanza, in order to remember an Italian journalist-writer
Elena Doni, who passed away not long ago.
The books, some of them very precious, complement the rich
collection of Italian books in the Library and will be available
to a very diverse audience: Moldovan students wishing to deepen
their knowledge of the Italian language, Italians living in
Moldova, Moldovan citizens who returned to their country after
having worked in Italy.
In fact, Italy is home to the world's second largest
Moldavian community. The donated books are mainly of literary
subject, novels and essays, tourism, history of religions and
books for children. This event is part of the cultural relations
between the two countries and is held within a programme of
events that enhance Italian excellence in design, art, cuisine,
through the teaching of Italian, thanks to the activity of Liceo
Dante Alighieri in Chisinau. (ANSA).
