Enlargement:von der Leyen,ahead with North Macedonia-Albania
EU Commission will soon present a new methodology for membership

(ANSA) - ZAGREB, JANUARY 10 - The European Commission will
present soon, "certainly before the Zagreb Summit in May, the
new methodology for the accession process", on which the
Commissioner for Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi is working at the
moment.
At the same time, it is necessary "to move forward on the
dossier to start the accession talks with North Macedonia and
Albania", since these countries have already met the criteria.
The EC President Ursula von der Leyen talked about these issues
during a press conference with premier Andrej Plenkovic, on the
occasion of the ceremonies organized to celebrate the beginning
of the Croatian presidency of the EU Council. Last autumn,
France vetoed the opening of accession talks with North
Macedonia and Albania.(ANSA).
