(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 03 LUG - A high share of people in
Bulgaria, Greece and Romania did not make any tourism trip in
2016, mostly because of financial concerns, according to data
made public by Eurostat recently.
Eurostat said that the share of the population non
participating in tourism in 2016 was 76% in Romania, 70.2% in
Bulgaria, 64.4% in Greece. At the EU level, 37.9% of people did
not take a tourism trip in 2016, with data above the EU average
registered also in Croatia (56%), Hungary (44.8%), Lithuania
(42,1%) and Latvia (41%).
"Financial concerns were the most frequently reported reason
for not taking a tourism trip in the majority of the Member
States," Eurostat noted. The highest share of people that did
not go to holidays because of financial concerns, Greece (75%),
Portugal (66%) and Croatia (62%). (ANSA).
