(ANSA) - BELGRADE - The Serbian Parliament approved a law
proposal for an Inquiry Commission that will investigate the
consequences for health and environment of the depleted uranium
bombings conducted by NATO against Serbia in 1999 during Kosovo
war. 156 deputies voted in favor, one did not vote.
The committee will inform the parliament every six months and
will present a first report by the end of 2020.
Cases of cancer increased in Serbia, especially among
children, as President Aleksandar Vucic reported. The
authorities believe that italian Inquiry commission report could
help the serbian one. Italy participated in the NATO bombings in
1999 and 4 thousand soldiers fell ill with cancer, almost 300
died. (ANSA).
