Bundesbank lowers 2022 German growth forecast to 4.2%

(ANSA-AFP) - FRANKFURT AM MAIN, DEC 17 - The German central
bank on Friday lowered its outlook for growth in Europe's
largest economy next year, as the country contends with
persistent supply bottlenecks and the arrival of the Omicron
variant of the coronavirus. The Bundesbank revised down its
estimate for 2022 to 4.2 percent from a previous prediction of
5.2 percent made in June. "The recovery has been somewhat pushed
back," central bank president Jens Weidmann said in a statement.
