(ANSA) - UDINE, JAN 22 - ''The slowdown in German industrial
production could have repercussions on Friuli's exports to
Germany this year, which grew by 32.6% from September 2016 to
September 2018, and, consequently, on our manufacturing sector
as a whole''. That is what the president of Confindustria Udine
Anna Mareschi Danieli said today, expressing the concern of the
Friuli-based industrialists over Germany's slowdown.
''The German economy shrank for the third consecutive month
in November - she underlined -, recording the biggest
contraction over four years''. Concern is motivated by the
strong economic relationship between Friuli and Germany.
''Germany - added Anna Mareschi Danieli - is the biggest
trade partner for the Province of Udine. Exports to Germany
account for 17.9% of all sales abroad, 26% if we consider only
exports to 28 EU member countries. In particular - she continued
- 33.9% of the electrical equipment exported from the province
of Udine are sold in Germany (Jan.-Sept. 2018) ''. ''A slowdown
in exports from Friuli, which accounts for 39% of the total GDP
of the province of Udine - president said - might therefore
jeopardise the economic growth this year, especially in some
sectors''. (ANSA).
