EU-19: retail trade down 0.3% in July

Biggest drops were recorded in Germany, Croatia and Austria

(ANSA) - BRUSSELS - In July, the retail trade in the eurozone declined by 0.3% compared to June, when it increased by 0.6%. In Ue-28 it dropped by 0.2% (0.5% in June), Eurostat reported.

The biggest drops were recorded in Germany (down 1.2%); Croatia (down 1.1%) Estonia and Austria (down 1%). The biggest increases were recorded in Slovenia (up 1.4%); Romania and Sweden (up 1.2%). Italy's data are not yet available, but in June retail trade increased by 0.4%, whereas it grew by 0% in May. (ANSA).
